A Houston man is charged in what may be a first in the community — The theft of an electric bicycle.

Ethan Miller, born in 2007, is charged with stealing more than $750, a class D felony.

The Houston Police Department reported the Lectric electric bicycle was reported stolen Saturday evening from the 200 block of Chestnut Street. By Tuesday, officers had developed information about the theft estimated at about $1,800 for the bike that was white and had a saddle bag. Additionally, it was reported the bicycle might have been repainted black.

An officer arrived at Miller’s Houston home at Ozark Terrace and saw the bicycle in the living room from the doorway. Miller admitted to the theft, and said he was drunk at the time of the crime.

Miller’s bond is set at $1,500 cash.
