A Red Flag Warning is in effect for Texas County from 10 a.m. through 7 p.m. today, the National Weather Service said.  

The risk for fire is high. Authorities said burning should not occur.

South to southwest wind gusts up to 45 mph and minimum relative humidity values around 20 to 25% will combine to increase the risk.

The most troubling fire this week in the county was west of Licking. The blaze was contained, but some evacuations did occur. A second on Hayes Drive north of Houston came close to a house.
