The National Weather Service is warning about the potential for severe storms this weekend.

Showers and non-severe thunderstorms east of U.S. 65 are expected this morning and afternoon.

Round 1 of Strong to Severe thunderstorms: Saturday night into early Sunday morning.

The primary hazard is large hail and damaging winds.

Round 2 of Strong to Severe thunderstorms: Sunday afternoon through Sunday evening. Large to significant hail, damaging wind gusts and tornadoes.

The timing and location of potential redevelopment on Sunday afternoon (Round 2) will be affected by the activity that lingers through Sunday morning from the overnight (Round 1).
