Trump’s tariffs announcement on April 2 was a significant downer and is the beginning of a major negative financial impact upon every American.
The economist Paul Krugman stated it was the dumbest Trump action so far in his second administration. But that is another story to watch. We are currently struggling with the horrific impact of Project 2025. Trump seems totally obsessed with forcing America to become a third-world country. He must believe that Project 2025 will set him up as the autocrat to rule our country.
I understand why it is easy to become depressed about our future lives with all this chaos going down. However, a bright light was generated by the people of Wisconsin on April 1. Wisconsin voters turned out for a statewide election of a Wisconsin State Supreme Court seat. Susan Crawford (the Democratic Party candidate) won the election with 55% of the vote. This win for Crawford has been attributed to one man – Elon Musk. Musk had invested over $20 million to get the Republican candidate elected. Musk failed. Wisconsin rejected the richest man in the world’s attempt to buy an election. It proves that we the people can make a difference and can help control our country’s destiny.
Personally, I do not want to live in an isolated country – where we must beg for critical services to stay healthy and alive. We must prevent the Project 2025 cuts to Medicaid, Social Security and Medicare. Call your representatives and senators and insist that they take action to stop the Trump-Musk team. We need our democracy; we don’t need Greenland.
