The “Pack a Punch” food program that provides food for elementary students to take home on Fridays has run out of funds for the remainder of the school year.
“It costs $500 a week and they are presently $1,200 in the hole,” said program organizer Elaine Campbell. “There are eight more weeks of school, and they cannot continue.”
Campbell stated that any source of funding is appreciated. Those interested can contact her at decamcoinc@yahoo.com or call the school at 417-967-3024.
“Since the program will cost about $12,000 next year, the youth will have to evaluate if they can continue another year,” said Campbell. “They would like to finish the year.”
