Fatal crash

Troop G of the Missouri State Highway Patrol reported Monday that a motorcycle crash claimed a Mansfield man.

Cpl. Travis Brown reported that a 53-year-old man operating a 2015 Harley Davidson Sportster 48 ran off the end of a dead-end road —  Lucky Road four miles west of Mansfield — and struck an embankment and overturned at about 8:30 p.m. Sunday.

The driver, who was not identified, was pronounced deceased at about 10:20 a.m. Monday by Wright County Coroner Ben Hurtt. The man was not wearing a helmet, Brown said.

It is the ninth fatality in Troop G of the patrol compared to three at the same time in 2024.
