Local farmer and realtor Hannah Kelly officially announced her campaign for State Senate in 2026.
A fifth generation resident of Wright County, Kelly will be running for the Senate seat being vacated by Justin Brown. Brown currently serves District 16, which includes parts of Dent, Laclede, Maries, Phelps, Pulaski and Wright counties.
“My name is Hannah Kelly and I’m ready to fight for you,” read her announcement letter to district residents.
“Hannah Kelly sued Planned Parenthood numerous times defending the state’s pro-life laws and fighting the radically liberal abortion group.”
She is also a former legislator who passed legislation protecting forgotten children across the state, and she received the 2023 Kids Choice award for work defending the next generation.
Kelly spent the last few months traveling the district exploring the race. She announced today that her campaign raised $40,000 over the last few months and she starts the campaign with over $50,000 in the bank.
“I’m not a lawyer or a doctor. I’m not rich. I’m just a country girl that believes our way of life needs a fighter,” she said.
