Texas County ranked fifth in Missouri on Sunday in the annual spring firearms turkey season, the Missouri Department of Conservation said.
Hunters in the county had killed 420 birds. The breakdown is: 388 adult gobblers. 30 juvenile gobblers and two bearded hens. The season opened Monday, April 21.
Top counties in the state were: Callaway (487), Franklin (479), Osage (458), Gasconade (446), Texas (420), Phelps (409) and Sainte Genevieve (404).
