Two persons were injured late Sunday night in a Wright County accident, the Missouri State Highway Patrol said.

Tpr. Nathan Poynter said a southbound 2017 Dodge Journey driven by a 55-year-old woman from Grovespring was breaking for an animal in the roadway and was struck from behind by a 2008 Dodge Ram operated by a 25-year-old Mountain Grove man.

The driver and an occupant from the Journey were taken to Mercy Hospital in Lebanon with minor injuries. Both were wearing seat belts. The vehicles had minor damage.

Assisting at the scene on Highway 5 north of Grovespring was Tpr. Jason Sentman.
