Memorial Day brought the opening Monday (May 26) of the Toni M. McKinney City of Houston Municipal Pool at Westside Park.
Hours are noon to 5 p.m. on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays; noon to 4 p.m. on Wednesdays. It is closed Sunday.
Other opportunities are lap swimming, 5-6 p.m. Mondays and Fridays; family hours, 5-6 p.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays; and water aerobics, 6-7 p.m. Mondays; 9-10 a.m. Thursdays.
In addition to the pool, a free splash pad is available to the south. It’s open 9 a.m. until 9 p.m. daily.
