An inmate at the South Central Correctional Center died Wednesday evening, the Missouri Department of Corrections said.
Kevin Hausmann, 72, was pronounced deceased at 9:12 p.m. in a medical unit at the prison in Licking.
He was serving a life sentence for one count of first-degree sodomy or attempted sodomy out of Barry County.
He had been in prison since November 2021.
An autopsy will be conducted, authorities said.
