A local man who is a registered sex offender faces five felony charges after allegedly failing to register multiple social media accounts and email addresses.
Brandon M. Baker, 37, of Brown Hill Road in Houston, is charged with five counts of failure to register as a sex offender (a class D felony).
According to a Missouri State Highway Patrol trooper’s report, on April 28 the officer was assigned to investigate Baker and subsequently made contact with him at his place of work.
During the process, the trooper asked to review information on Baker’s sex offender registry and reportedly found several social media accounts and email addresses on Baker’s cell phone that were not listed on his registry.
Baker reportedly said he wasn’t aware he was required to register any of them, and he was taken to jail.
Cash-only bond in the case is set at $2,000.
