Pastor Eddie Bone

On Sunday morning, June 29, about 35 worshippers and their furry friends gathered at Emmett Kelly Park in Houston for their worship service to celebrate the Blessing of the Animals.

Pastor Eddie Bone and his wife, Cindy, welcomed the group, opening in prayer.

Choir Director Beth Williamson led the group in singing “Alleluia.” Pastor Bone followed this by introducing the dogs in attendance. They are as follows:

  • Casper, a Great Pyrenees rescue
  • Lacey, a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel Aussie mix
  • Duffy, a Wheaton Terrier
  • Claire, a black lab mix
  • Patches a Catahoula mix

Two readings about animal life were shared by Cindy Bone. The first one was a passage from “All Creatures Great and Small” and then Psalm 104. Pastor Bone then invited all attendees to name one of their pets who couldn’t be at this event. Following this, he individually blessed each of the dogs present at the celebration.

As the group concluded its service with a closing prayer, they thanked the Lord for keeping them rain free.
