Grant Harlan Gabel, age 54, son of Gary and Jean (Manier) Gabel was born on Sept. 11, 1970, in Houston, Missouri. He passed away on July 11, 2025, in Licking, Missouri surrounded by family.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, C.V. and Noma Gabel and Charles (Chuck) and Helen Manier.
Grant is survived by his children; sons, Justin Gabel Evans and Kelly Gabel; and daughter, Grace Campbell and husband Robert; four grandsons, Kanyon Smith, Jesse Gabel, Harlan Campbell and Tennyson Campbell; one granddaughter, Marley Pearson; mother, Jean Gabel; father, Gary Gabel and wife Joyce; siblings, Jeff Gabel and wife Jennifer, Stacie Gabel, and Lynsie Gabel-Upton and husband Chris; stepbrother, Chris Kirkland; and many nieces and nephews.
He attended school at Houston and West Plains in his youth. He was a very hard worker. He was supervisor at Evans Sports and operated heavy equipment at Gabel Stone Co. for many years. What he enjoyed the most was driving a truck, as well as working on the farm in later years for his friend, Chad Smith. Of all his farm duties, checking the cows was his favorite.
Grant liked to have fun, and he was a blast to be around. He loved riding his Harley, shooting pool and listening to music. He loved shooting guns and hunting with his kids. One of his greatest enjoyments was fishing and digging for worms to use for bait, especially with his kids and grandkids. His greatest joy in life was his grandchildren. He was a great cook and always used his secret ingredient: Love.
Grant was a great guy with a big heart. He would help anyone in need. He would give you the shirt off his back, even the socks off his feet. Grant was dearly loved and will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
