A Raymondville man is charged with attempting to give a false urine sample during a court-ordered test, authorities said.

Eric Buell, who was born in 1983, appeared for a test at a probation office on Thursday, and a worker became suspicious after hearing what appeared to be urine being poured into a cup. The Houston Police Department responded and found a lid in Buell’s back pocket and an empty bottle in his underwear, according to a report. Buell admitted to using someone else’s urine for the test, police said.

Buell was taken to the Texas County Jail, where a search uncovered a crystal-like substance in his pants pocket. It field-tested positive for methamphetamine, according to a report. Buell denied it was his, and he advised he had just borrowed the pants.

Buell is charged with felony forgery, felony delivery of a controlled substance at a county jail and felony possession of a controlled substance. Bond is set at $3,500 cash only.
