Members of the Texas County Commission handled several matters during meetings Aug. 6 and 7.

Members:

  • Reviewed questionable applications for the Senior Tax Credit.
  • Reviewed and signed a jury fee reimbursement from the State of Missouri.
  • Reviewed bids for the Paddy Creek Flap project for Construction Inspection Services. Great Rivers Engineering was awarded the bid.
  • Adopted a “Conflict of Interest” resolution for the county. The resolution will be sent to the Missouri Ethics Commission.
  • Reviewed and acknowledged the written notice of resignation from Nicolette Dodd as a full-time dispatcher (M.U.L.E.S operator) effective July 30.
  • Reviewed Purdue Pharma opioid lawsuit proceedings, a letter from Missouri Department of Transportation (MoDOT) on the off-system bridge inspections and information from the Missouri Department of Revenue concerning a 3% marijuana tax.

In other business, commissioners heard from:

  • Prosecutor Parke Stevens Jr. inquiring about the purchase of a television in the witness room.
  • David Scantlin with updates on township roads, Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) and State Emergency Management Agency (SEMA).
  • Tony Floyd and Kristen Sullins on projects at the Twin Cities Industrial Park.
  • Marie Lasater who expressed interest in an appointment as deputy coroner.
  • Elle Blankenship, Veregy Company, to review all county facilities for cost saving opportunities.
