Calls on Thursday morning sent troopers to two locations in Texas County.

Highway patrol officers issued 26 citations and 31 warnings in conjunction with an impaired driving enforcement project conducted Aug. 25 in Texas County.

Troopers made two arrests for misdemeanor possession of a controlled substance and two arrests for felony possession of a controlled substance. This operation targeted impaired drivers along with other hazardous moving violations. The designated highways for this operation were U.S. 63 and U.S. 60. Totals from this operation include:

13 — speed citations

  6 — seat belt citations

  1 — child restraint violation citation

  1 — non-moving violation citation

  2 — driver license violation citations

  3 — uninsured motorist citations

  2 — misdemeanor drug arrests

  2 — felony drug arrests

 “The Missouri State Highway Patrol is dedicated to removing impaired drivers from our roadways,” said Capt. Mark Inman. “Our goal is to positively impact DWI enforcement and reduce alcohol- and drug-related vehicle crashes.”
