Members of the Texas County Commission handled several matters during meetings Aug. 27 and 28.

Members:

  • Attended Congressman Smith’s agricultural tour at Schmollinger Tree Farm.
  • Heard from Taylor Clinton, assessor, about remodeling her office.
  • Reviewed totals from the tax sale that was held Aug. 25.
  • Reviewed and discussed a final payment for liability insurance.
  • Attended a meeting at Public Water Supply District #3.

In other business, commissioners heard from:

  • Pierce Township Board President Jeff Malam regarding Corps of Engineers and Pine Creek Crossing.
  • Mike and Renee Knapp, Burdine Township, on Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) funds and road conditions.
  • Glen McKinney, American Legion, on the county museum.
