We are officially in the “ber” months, which means we are close to the first day of fall and very close to closing the library so we can get the move completed.
Stay tuned to “Bookends” as well as we will post an announcement on the door for the exact dates we will be closing, and the date we will reopen at the new library building. This is only temporary so we can do the move properly. Be thinking about one of our other wonderful branches (Cabool, Licking or Summersville) you can use in the meantime. If you would like to volunteer to help us move in some capacity, call me – Louise – at 417-967-2258.
The staff has been working hard packing up books and moving to our new building. We came across a terrific gift that you may want for yourself or a loved one. Starting in 1923 up to 1992 we have bound copies (6 months in a volume) of “National Geographic.” Find out what was going on a year that interests you by purchasing half a year or a whole year. Each volume we are asking $5 a piece. Proceeds will help us fund new books for the new library!
Do you have a Texas County Library card in your billfold? If not, why not? They are FREE and can be used to check out books, DVDs, e-books and use our computers. Celebrate National Library Card Sign Up Month with us for the month of September and come in to get your library card!
NEW BOOK ARRIVALS INCLUDE – “The Color of Death” by Trey Gowdy, “Broken Country” by Clare Leslie Hall, “All The Other Mothers Hate Me” by Sarah Harman, “The JFK Conspiracy” by Brad Meltzer, “Mistakes That Made Me a Millionaire” by Kim Perell, “”Emma on Fire” by James Patterson, “Billion Dollar Ranson” by Lames Patterson, “Apostle’s Cove” by William Kent Krueger, and “Deadly Storms” by Christine Feehan.
