A man from Licking is charged with sex crimes involving a juvenile nearly three years ago.
Justin Leyburn, born in 2001, was charged with statutory sodomy or attempted statutory sodomy, possession of child pornography, first offense; and third-degree child molestation of someone less than 14 years ago. All are felonies.
Cash-only bond is set at $3,000 with conditions including restricted contact with minors.
An investigation was launched in December 2022, but electronic evidence of reported inappropriate pictures was not recovered. In August 2025, it was reported that photographs might be stored on social media accounts. Further investigation was conducted by the Texas County Sheriff’s Department. According to a report, Leyburn admitted to receiving and sending nude photographs, as well as inappropriate touching with a then 13-year-old girl.
He was 21 at the time, according to the report.
