A local man who is a registered sex offender faces a felony charge after attending Houston’s annual fireworks show in June.
Brandon M. Baker, 37, of Brown Hill Road in Houston, is charged with sex offender physically present within 500 feet of a park (a class E felony).
An HPD officer reported observing Baker within 500 feet of Rutherford Park, which is inside Houston city limits, at about 9:24 p.m. June 28 immediately following the fireworks show at Houston Municipal Airport. The officer reported that Baker was seen exiting an area designated for attendees of the event to park their vehicles.
Cash-only bond in the case is set at $2,000.
