Members of the Texas County Commission held meetings Nov. 12 and 13 to handle personnel and other matters. 

MEETING ITEMS

  • The commission reviewed and approved United Health Care for 2026 employee health care benefits. 
  • A new contract with Marco Copier Systems was reviewed and approved. 
  • Janet Fraley, Louise Beasley and Gwen Ross, Texas County Library, presented Presiding Commissioner Scott Long with a library card. 
  • The hiring of Nicolas Talotta as a full-time jailer effective Nov. 10 was reviewed and acknowledged. 
  • A request to close one of the county clerk’s safety deposit boxes at The Bank of Houston was approved. 
  • Commissioners reviewed and acknowledged that Coroner Brent Honeycutt received his certificate of training for 2025. 
  • Members heard updates on drain conditions in the administration building and a request to purchase radios for the Medical Reserve Corps. 
  • Glen McKinney updated the commission on the county museum. 
  • State Rep. Bennie Cook visited with the commission. 
  • Richard Geisler spoke to commissioners about Cass Township.
