A 10-year-old boy was fatally injured in an ATV accident Saturday afternoon 10 miles northwest of Cabool.
Cpl. Justin Dedmon said the accident on Highway AK occurred when the northbound Honda Pioneer was traveling on the fence row and struck a hole/dip, became airborne and ejected the boy at about 4 p.m.
Dr. Marcus Hennon pronounced him deceased at Texas County Memorial Hospital at 5:01 p.m. Next of kin was notified.
Assisting at the scene were Cpl. Jacob Sellars, Texas County Sheriff’s Department and Mountain Grove Fire Department.
It is the 32nd fatality this year compared to 22 at the same time in 2024, the patrol said.
