After a traffic stop made by a Houston Police Department officer on Oct. 4, a Houston woman faces a felony drug charge.

Heidi C. Jurey, born in 1968, of Forrest Drive in Houston, is charged with possession of a controlled substance (a class D felony).

An HPD officer reported conducting a traffic stop involving Jurey.

During the process, Jurey attempted to throw a glass smoking device, commonly used for the consumption of methamphetamine, out of a black purse she was carrying and into a ditch, the officer said. Her action was recorded via a department-issued body camera.

Jurey was reportedly read her Miranda rights and agreed to speak with the officer, and admitted that the device was hers, along with another glass pipe. Both items were field tested and yielded positive results for meth.

Jurey was arrested and taken to jail. Cash-only bond in the case is set at $2,000.
