Houston’s Taste of Christmas contest is set for Saturday, Nov. 29.(today)
Residents enter baked goods and customers judge them. Individual stores award prizes.
Voting runs from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m., unless a business closes before, said Cassie Carter, organizer.
Here are the categories and locations: Brownies, Houston Herald; candy, Forbes Pharmacy; cobblers, Bomgaars; cookies, Houston Senior Center; cookie bars, Holy Cross Lutheran Church; cinnamon rolls, The Corner; cheeseballs, Aaron’s; chili, The Crafting Table; chips and salsa, Lilia’s Taqueria; cupcakes/cakes, New Concepts Salon & Spa; decorated cookies, Dodo Shack; dips, Mean Muggin’; fudge, City Limits Flea Market; gingerbread houses, Texas County Library, Houston; jerky, Piney River Ford; snack mix, Millstone Market; and soup, D & L Florist.
