- On Dec. 10, a deputy was dispatched regarding a report of assault at an Orchard Street residence at Raymondville.
An 82-year-old man there told the officer he and his 25-year-old grandson had been in an argument, and the grandson had struck him in the face several times. The man said his grandson suffers from several mental health disorders.
The grandson was taken by ambulance to a hospital for a 96-hour evaluation period.
The deputy observed bruising around the older man’s eye and on his cheek and chin.
- On Dec. 11, a deputy was dispatched to a McColgan Road residence at Raymondville regarding a report of fraud.
The officer spoke to a 67-year-old man there who said he had allowed a 53-year-old woman to use his debit card at U-Haul for a move and she had used it for unauthorized charges.
The man provided the officer with a phone number to contact the woman, but it was disconnected.
- On Dec. 10, a 45-year-old Cabool woman reported that her dog was missing from her Highway AV residence.
An investigating deputy reportedly spoke to the same woman about the missing dog – a black-and-white chihuahua – on Oct. 21, and that her son last saw the dog on Oct. 26.
The woman told the officer she now suspects the dog was taken by a FedEx driver.
- On Dec. 9, a deputy observed a red Kia Sorento with no license plates parked at Route 32 and Highway N.
The officer was aware that a vehicle matching that description had been reported stolen by the Houston Police Department. A check of its VIN revealed it was the vehicle in question.
It was towed to a lot in Houston.
- On Dec. 10, a 76-year-old Raymondville man reported that a pistol he owns was missing.
The man told a deputy that he carries a Taurus PT740 in a clipped holster and it might have slipped out. He said he last saw the gun on the previous day.
