Expanded energy assistance was announced Tuesday for Texas County residents.

Ozark Action Inc. announced this week that it is experiencing an extremely high demand for energy assistance.

With limited resources, it said it was working as quickly as possible to answer calls and process applications. “Unfortunately, our current resources are limited, and we are unable to stay ahead of the volume at this time,” it said in a statement.

It offered tips to assist residents:

  • If calling and reaching voicemail, leave a name and callback number. A staff member will return the call as soon as possible.
  • It suggests contacting utility providers directly to discuss alternative payment arrangements.

“We sincerely apologize for these delays and appreciate your patience as we continue to serve as many households as possible with the funding available,” it said.
