The City of Houston invites vendors to the inaugural Emmett Kelly Day. Although the event has taken place for several years, Missouri now officially recognizes the last Saturday in April as “Emmett Kelly Day.”

“Because this is our inaugural event, we would like to have the vendors join our celebration by participating in the vendor ‘Emmett Kelly Clown Theme Decorating Contest’ that features a $200 cash prize for the booth judged the best decorated by a vote of the Kelly Family,” said Brenda Senter, organizer.

Emmett Kelly Day is being held on April 25, 2026. Applications can be picked up at city hall or emailed to vendors. A vendor spot is parking space size (20 ft by 8 ft) and is $20 per space. Electricity is available for $15. Food trucks are welcome at $50 per space.

All vendors can set up after 7 a.m. Saturday and must be completely set up with a truck/car parked off the street by 9 a.m. The vendors are to stay open and not dismantle until 5 p.m.

There are wonderful opportunities to meet and sell products to many people. Emmett Kelly’s daughter, Stasia, and her son will be present. We also encourage organizations to get involved with booths and promote this exciting day for our state.

You can email Travis Witzemann, economic developer, at twitzemann@houstonmo.org for a vendor form. They need to be returned by April 1, 2026 and spaces are given on a first come basis.
