Members of the Texas County Commission held meetings Jan. 14 and 15 to handle area matters. 

MEETING ITEMS

  • Commissioners discussed office budgets with elected officials. 
  • Road maintenance agreements were approved for Jackson and Lynch townships for 2026. 
  • The commission attended a Twin Cities Industrial Park council meeting. 
  • A representative from Veregy Solutions met with commissioners concerning improvements to update facilities.
  • A letter of resignation effective Jan. 14 from Karissa Hurst, assessor’s office, was reviewed and acknowledged.
  • The hiring of Leasa Cooper, as a part-time deputy assessor, was reviewed and acknowledged effective Jan. 27.
  • Commissioners reviewed and acknowledged Pheadra Venn’s last day in the collector’s office as Jan. 14. 
  • George Sholtz presented the commission with a formal appeal for his personal property assessment. He informed the commission that he would take it before the Board of Equalization in July. 
  • Brad Rees visited with the commission concerning public and private drives.
