A Licking man is charged with two felony drug offenses following an investigation last year.

Steven R. Parker, born in 1985, is charged with second-degree trafficking drugs, a class B felony; and possession of a controlled substance, a class D felony.

Parker was arrested May 16, 2025, at a business when a Houston officer observed a syringe and a black tin can, according to a report. He was wanted on an arrest warrant.

Upon inspecting the can, 16 capsules containing a substance later identified as fentanyl and one oxycodone tablet were discovered, according to the report, which noted that Parker had allegedly attempted to conceal the items before being taken into custody.

Charges were filed by the county prosecutor’s office Tuesday, Jan. 27. Bond is set at $5,000 cash only.

Parker also was stopped Jan. 26 by a county deputy. He faces charges of driving while revoked/suspended and not having insurance. Bond is set at $1,500 cash only.
