Nine members of the Houston Schools band were selected to the South Central Association All-Conference Honor Band, which performed Saturday in Ava.
Tryouts were held in January at Mountain Grove Schools with the top two chairs receiving an invitation to the Honor Band for both middle and high school musicians.
Participants spent several honors Saturday practicing with students from other SCA schools before performing that evening for the public.
