The Houston City Council is expected to turn its attention to nuisance properties in August.
The decision came Monday during a short open session meeting of the council, which was followed by about two hours in a closed session.
Each of the six-member council is expected to compile a list of abandoned houses that are in disrepair, areas where stacks of tires are located, tall grass and junk vehicles that are not licensed. Streets that have poor lighting also will be examined.
The lists will be discussed at a regular meeting on Aug. 6.
