When the Houston High School boys and girls basketball teams play in their upcoming district tournaments, they will each be in Class 3 District 9 with similar fields.
The districts will each include Cabool, Houston, Liberty, Licking, Thayer and Willow Springs.
Cabool will host the boys tournament and Houston will host the girls.
The HHS boys are seeded fifth in the 6-team bracket and will face No. 4 Licking in a first round game on Tuesday, Feb. 24, with the winner taking on top-seeded Liberty on Thursday, Feb. 26. No. 3 Thayer and No. 6 Cabool will play in the other first round game, with the winner advancing to play No. 2. Willow Springs.
The district championship game is set for 5 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 28.
The Houston girls are also seeded fifth and will face No. 4 Liberty in the first round on Monday, Feb. 23, with the winner taking on No. 1 Thayer on Wednesday, Feb. 25. No. 3 Licking and No. 6 Cabool will play in the other first round matchup, with the winner going against No. 2 Willow Springs.
The district championship game is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. Friday, Feb. 27.
