The superintendent of Raymondville Schools has been hired as the next director of the Exceptional Child Education Cooperative.
Dana Buschmann, a Summersville native who has been the top administrator at Raymondville since 2016, was hired during the closed session of Tuesday’s Houston Board of Education meeting. She replaces current director Jennifer Johnson, who is retiring at the end of the current school year.
Buschmann graduated in 1996 from Summersville, where she taught 11 years before joining Raymondville Schools. She earned a bachelor’s degree in elementary education from Southwest Baptist University in 2005. She has a master’s degree in educational administration from William Woods University.
Johnson has led the coop since 2018.
