An inmate of the South Central Correctional Center at Licking, temporarily housed at the Moberly Correctional Center in Moberly, Missouri, died Sunday, the Missouri Department of Corrections said.
Christopher Roper, 62, died at 9:11 p.m., according to the prison.
He was serving a 70-year sentence for two counts of first-degree assault (serious injury), four counts of armed criminal action, one count of kidnapping, one count of unlawful use of a weapon, one count of forcible sodomy with a deadly weapon and one count of first-degree burglary out of Pettis County.
He was received in the Missouri Department of Corrections on March 11, 2003.
An autopsy will be conducted, the department said.
