A local not-for-profit organization that raises funds for scholarships and community betterment will host a free dinner for those who want to learn more.

The Houston Community Foundation donor’s dinner will offer information from the Community Foundation of the Ozarks, which enables charitable giving, scholarships and grantmaking. The Houston foundation has assets of about $1.77 million.

Those attending will learn more about estate planning, starting a fund to benefit the community or establishing a scholarship.

The event is March 19 (dinner at 5:30 p.m. following by a program at 6 p.m.) at Houston First Baptist Church at Hawthorn and Airport Road.
