The following are excerpts from just some of the reports recently generated by the Texas County Sheriff’s Department:
•On Feb. 19, a deputy responded to a report of a domestic incident at a Route N residence at Licking.
The officer made contact with a 43-year-old man there who said his 58-year-old mother was upset because he hadn’t installed new cabinets in the house. He said he had gone to town to purchase hardware for the task and that he had informed his mom that he was planning to move out and would be taking his two firearms with him.
The woman told the officer she didn’t want him to take the guns because they were purchased for her. The deputy advised her that the matter regarding the guns was a civil, and that if he had paid for them, he couldn’t be prevented from taking them.
The officer advised the two of the 12-hour separation rule.
•Wayne J. Beck, 60, of Gravel Point Road in Mountain Grove, was arrested Feb. 13 for having an active Texas County warrant for a felony charge of unlawful use of a weapon and a misdemeanor charge of domestic assault.
A deputy made the arrest at Beck’s residence and took him to jail.
•On Feb. 19, a deputy was dispatched regarding a domestic assault involving a 53-year-old man and a 52-year-old woman at a Route YY residence at Cabool.
After investigation, the man was arrested and taken to jail and a probable cause statement was sent to the county prosecutor seeking an assault charge against him.
