A Bucyrus man working as a food delivery employee was arrested Wednesday on the Houston School District campus after it was verified he was a convicted sex offender.

Joel Neudeck, who was born in 2003 and resides in the 9600 block of Highway 17, is charged for allegedly being within 500 feet of a school building twice.

A Houston Police Department officer was aware of his presence on the campus on Tuesday. A report was filed that he had allegedly used profane language toward an employee. Upon investigation, a computer check revealed that he was on the state sex offender registration list.

On the next day, according to a report, he was seen again and questioned by a Houston officer. He said he was a DoorDash delivery employee. He was arrested.

Court records show Neudeck was convicted in 2022 of child sexual abuse and child pornography charges in Maries County. He is held on $3,000 cash only bond.
