Competing for the first time in the 2026 season, the Houston High School boys and girls track and field teams produced several good results last Friday at the annual Osage Open hosted by Osage High School in Osage Beach.
The HHS girls posted seven wins and three second-place finishes in the nine-team event, while the boys notched one victory.
Two Lady Tigers had multiple wins, as senior Kayla Wagner took first in the 400-meter dash, high jump and triple jump and freshman Lyla Huffman won the 800 and 1,600-meter runs.
“We had several good performances, and some high performers that struggled with early season jitters,” said HHS head coach Mike Tottingham.
