- On March 8, a deputy responded to a report of a domestic incident at a Wye City Road residence at Success involving a 68-year-old man and a 45-year-old woman.
The officer located the woman walking on Bell Road, and she said the man had destroyed her phone and threatened to kill her and take her body into the woods so nobody could find her. She told the deputy that while driving down the road, the man wouldn’t stop the vehicle, so she grabbed the shifter and put it in park several times.
The woman said she then grabbed the man’s dog and threatened to throw it out the window, and the man stopped and she got out.
The woman also told the officer the man had punched her in the throat, but the officer didn’t observe any marks from the alleged blow. She did have a scratch above her eye.
The deputy then went to the house and located the man, and he said the woman had stolen $300 from his wallet and physically assaulted him multiple times. He said the mark above the woman’s eye was probably due to them struggling in the vehicle.
The deputy reported not being able to identify a primary aggressor. The man and woman were advised of the 12-hour rule.
- On March 5, a deputy was dispatched to a Hartville Road residence at Licking regarding a report of a trespass complaint.
The officer made contact with a 72-year-old man there who said a 72-year-old neighbor woman had come onto his property several times and recently placed a trespass sign on a new fence he had just built on the property. The man said he removed the sign, and that he and the woman had been having issues since he sold her about 40 acres a few years ago. He also said the woman is attempting to sue him for criminal trespass and was harassing him by posting inflammatory claims on Facebook.
The deputy reported that contact would be made with the woman. Investigation is ongoing.
