A Houston woman is charged with third-degree domestic assault, a felony, following an altercation Sunday.

Hunter Benestante, born in 1997 and a resident of Route 17, was arrested after a reported assault at about 1:15 p.m. According to a report, one person was allegedly assaulted and Benestante made threats to kill the victim and others.

A deputy noted that Benestante appeared to be under the influence of alcohol and smoking a marijuana device. The victim had visible injuries, including scratches and blood spots.

She is held in the Texas County Jail on $3,000 cash only bond. According to a report, Benestante has had two prior contacts with law enforcement that resulted in court-ordered mental evaluations.
