Texas County commissioners held meetings to handle area matters on May 6 and 7.

Updates

  • Commissioners held “Government Days” with Licking eighth-graders and students from the Gentry Center.
  • The commission met with Ron Scheets and Ron Reed to discuss Chapter 100 Tax Abatement bonds.
  • They also met with Robert Tate and Mark Dewthrow concerning a road issue, Curtis Tyler concerning an easement issue, and Tony Floyd and Kristen Sullins concerning a letter of support for Twin Cities Industrial Park.
  • The collector/treasurer inquired about canceling a property transaction that was sold at the tax sale last fall.
  • The maintenance department gave updates on bids for a roof at the 911 building as well as other facility needs.
  • Mary Ellen Higashi, Lynch Township, turned in low water crossing request.
  • Travis Maddox, Texas County Emergency Response Team, discussed several LEPC issues and provided the commission with an after action report.
  • Jeff Malam, Pierce Township, discussed township issues and David Scantlin provided an update on area Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) projects.
  • The commission had a phone conversation with Linda Bradford concerning the previous week’s meeting minutes.
