A 55-year-old Bucyrus woman was injured Sunday morning when she suffered a medical emergency that caused an accident, the Missouri State Highway Patrol said.

Tpr. Caz Edens said the northbound driver of a 2015 Ford Escape ran off Emery Road and struck a tree.

The woman, who was wearing a seat belt, was taken with moderate injuries by ambulance to Texas County Memorial Hospital in Houston.

The vehicle had moderate damage. Assisting at the scene were Tpr. Jason Sentman and the Houston Rural Fire Department.
