A Summersville woman faces several charges — including drug trafficking — after her arrest Friday, authorities said.

Christy L. Cobble, 42, is charged with trafficking drugs or attempting, a class A felony. She allegedly possessed 20 milligrams of fentanyl when searched by officers. She also is charged with possession of a controlled substance, methamphetamine, a class D felony. Prosecutors alleged she concealed capsules by placing them in a patrol car to avoid detection, which resulted in a charge of tampering with physical evidence in a class E felony prosecution.

She also is charged with driving while revoked/suspended, unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia, failing to stop at a sign and failing to display plates, all misdemeanors.

Prosecutors said she is a “prior and persistent offender,” who has felony convictions in 2021 in Texas County and 2012 in Phelps County.

Cobble, who resides on Route 17, is held on $50,000 cash only bond.
