The Cabool school board hired a full-time resource officer at its regular monthly meeting on May 12.
The offer was contingent upon the City of Cabool approving a memorandum of understanding for the position, which it did at its monthly meeting on May 18. Resource officer Shane Wallace will become a full-time school employee, with the city providing uniforms and a patrol vehicle, according to the agreement.
The board also made several personnel decisions in closed sessions, including the acceptance of a retirement proposal from high school principal Brad Shockley. The board accepted the resignation of maintenance director Bradley Robertson and voted to hire William Johnson in that role for the remainder of the 2025-2026 year and for the upcoming school year.
The board hired/renewed several coaches, including the following:
- High school spring sports: Matthew Rogers, boys’ track; Jamminy McCrosky, girls’ track; Robert Crewse, golf; Bryce Duddridge, head baseball; and Sharon Monter, head softball.Â
- Middle school spring sports: April Collins, girls’ track; Ethan Meeks, head baseball; Jeremy Fielder, assistant baseball; Lacy Sigman, head softball; and Taylor Goforth, assistant softball.Â
- Jaclyn Sheppard was hired as high school basketball cheer coach for the 2026-2027 school year.
- Shane Wallace was hired as middle school boys’ track coach, contingent on him being hired as a full-time employee.
Other personnel moves
The board hired James Shannon as a bus driver and Timothy Riley was hired as a part-time bus driver for the 2026-2027 school year. Samantha Turnbull was hired as a pre-K 4-year-old teacher, Christy Primanzon was hired as a paraprofessional, and Ashleigh Andrus was hired as a payroll clerk, all for the upcoming school year.
