Kim C. Medlock Akers, 68, was born on April 9, 1958, in Rolla, Missouri, to Leo C. Medlock and Shirley Marie (Medlock) Greathouse. She went to be with the Lord on Aug. 3, 2026.
Kim was saved and baptized at an early age.
She married the love of her life, Jerry Granville Akers in 1979. As a team, they became “over the road” truck drivers. To this union, one daughter, Brandi Marie Akers was born on May 10, 1982.
Kim worked several jobs during her lifetime. The last job was working for MoDOT out of the Success, Missouri, shed until she was injured, which ended her career. In the last few years, she experienced illness that kept her confined, but she kept her chin up and continued going until God called her home.
She liked to take her truck, which she called “Big Red,” on outings. She enjoyed family and friends, eating home-grown tomatoes, and especially playing and spending time with Fuzzy, her cat.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Survivors include her daughter, Brandi of the home; one brother, Rex Lee Medlock and wife, Nancy of Yukon, Missouri; two sisters, Roxanne Marie Miles and husband, Keith of Belle Vista, Arkansas, and Judy Lynn Rupe and husband, Jerry of Houston, Missouri; niece, Stacie Ely, five nephews, Nathan Miles, Matthew Miles, Eric Medlock, Craig Medlock and Heath Medlock and a host of great nieces and nephews.
She will be greatly missed by her loved ones and friends.
Per Kim’s wishes, no services are planned at this time. Cremation arrangements were under the care of Bradford Funeral Home and online condolences may be left at www.bradfordfuneralhome.net.
