Sharon (Sherry) Ann FitzSimon Whitworth, born on June 28, 1951, of Plato, Missouri, passed away peacefully on Aug. 17, 2026, at the age of 75.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Wayne Whitworth; her parents, David and JoNell FitzSimon; and her brother, Johnny FitzSimon.
She is survived by her children, Donna Williams and her husband, Lance, Tanya Groff and her partner Kevin Posey, and Corey Groff and his wife Stephanie. Her grandchildren Kayla Jo and Weston Williams, Braedin Groff and wife Mindy, Korye Groff, Dustyn Hawes and his wife Jenna, and Treyton and McKinlee Smith. Great grandchildren Jace Williams and Rinley Groff. She is also survived by her brother Mark FitzSimon and wife Barbara, sister Amy Wiley and husband Shane, stepdaughter Valorie Hopkins and her husband David and their three children Tyler, Katie and Emily, sister-in-law Sharon Ichord, her husband Bill and their two children Clint and Julie Blauvelt and husband Ben. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Sherry’s family is holding a private celebration of her life. They would like to thank the staff at Hopeton House who so lovingly cared for her during her final days.
