Lettie Kay Powell Martin, 75, passed away Wednesday, Nov. 22, 2017, in Springfield.

She was born Feb. 2, 1942, in Dudley, daughter of Clarence Edward and Lettie Jane Hutchcraft Powell. She and Jerry Leroy Martin were married June 20, 1959. She married Clarence Franklin Martin on Feb. 15, 1969.

She worked at several factories in St. Louis. She later moved to Licking and worked in the woods with her husband for a while. She worked 25 years at Rawlings Sporting Goods. After it closed, she went to school and received her GED.

She liked to fish in lakes around the area and in her pond. She enjoyed watching the St. Louis Cardinals and traveling.

She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Gene Powell and Thomas Powell; and four sisters, Cleotus Upchurch, Sylvia Roger, Martha Ann Copper and a twin, Fay Sieber.

Survivors include seven children, Annie Marie Martin, Patricia Jane William and Brenda JoAnn Titus of Eminence, Michael Leroy Martin of Goodlettsville, Tenn., Janice Kay Nixdorf of Houston, Lisa Marie Martin of Granite City, Ill., and Brian Keith Martin of Licking; 17 grandchildren; four brothers, James Powell, Henry Powell, Albert Powell and Carrol “Bill” Powell; a sister, Elizabeth O’Connor; and several nieces and nephews.

Services were Sunday, Nov. 26, at Fox Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Darius Wentz officiating. Burial was in Licking Cemetery.
