James Lloyd Schweighauser, 68, of Summersville, passed away Sunday, Oct. 1, 2017.

He was born Nov. 19, 1948, in Shannon County, son of Allie and Minnie Melvinie Jackson Schweighauser. He and Glenda Darlene Greear were married June 23, 1972.

He graduated from Summersville High School. He worked for Angelica Uniform Factory for more than 30 years. He also maintained his family farm, where he raised hogs and cattle.

He enjoyed hauling hay and selling the square bales all over the country.

He was baptized in September 2015 at his home. He was a member of Flat Rock Church of Christ.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Ray Schweighauser and Donald Schweighauser; and a sister Ruth.

Survivors include his wife, Glenda of Summersville; two brothers, Denver Schweighauser of Walnut Ridge, Ark., and Charles Schweighauser of Diggins; other family members; and a special friend, Sanford Schlabach.

Services are 1 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 5, at Bradford Funeral Home Chapel, Summersville, with Brother Tad Morris officiating. Burial will be in Summersville City Cemetery.
