The Houston Police Department recently handled several investigations.

The following are excerpts from reports generated by the Houston Police Department:

•Jennifer D. Hendrix, 28, of 103 Redbud Drive in Houston, was issued a citation for possession of drug paraphernalia on Aug. 12.

Hendrix was cited after an officer responded to a report of an unresponsive female at the residence. Upon arrival, the officer observed Hendrix lying on a bed unresponsive. She reportedly didn’t react to her name being yelled loudly several times.

An ambulance crew arrived at the scene and she was then able to speak and said she was fine. At that time, officers observed a bong and a tackle box containing drug related items next to the bed. The items were seized and Hendrix was charged.

•Jacob G. Thompson, 25, of 424 S. King St. in Houston, was cited on Aug. 11 for possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia.

•Kandace R. Pearson, 30, was issued citations for driving with a suspended license and speeding after a traffic stop on Oakhill Drive at about 2:10 p.m. Aug. 14.

•A Division of Family services investigator requested on July 10 that officers accompany him to an apartment on Grand Avenue regarding a report of methamphetamine, marijuana and unsanitary living conditions where a 10-month-old girl resided.

Two officers and the DFS representative made contact with a 27-year-man and 23-year-old woman who live there and the pair gave officer consent to search. During the search, a box containing marijuana and a baggie containing meth were found under a chair in the kitchen within easy reach of the infant.

When the investigation was complete, the man and woman were arrested and the child was removed from the home and placed with a family member.

A drug test was done on the girl, and results received July 24 indicated she had a high level of meth in her system, along with THC and amphetamine.

A report and probable cause statement were sent to the county prosecutor.
